Puff mandazi

Indulge in these fluffy, lightly sweetened Puff Mandazi, perfect for breakfast or a snack. Enjoy them on their own or with a cup of tea for a delightful treat.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of active yeast
  • 3 tablespoons of milk powder
  • pinch of Nutmeg (optional)
  • pinch of salt
  • Lukewarm water
  • Oil for frying

STEPS

  1. In a medium bowl Mix together flour, sugar, milk,  powder, nutmeg, salt, and yeast
  2. Add  water to the dry ingredients to form a batter
  3. The batter shouldn’t be runny and shouldn’t be thick as well
  4. Cover with a cling film, wrap with a kitchen towel, put in a warm place, and let it rest for 1 hour or until doubled in size
  5.  Heat the cooking coil but don’t let it be too hot, get a tablespoon, scoop in the batter, and fry till golden brown
  6. Remove from oil, let them cool and enjoy
