Puff mandazi
Indulge in these fluffy, lightly sweetened Puff Mandazi, perfect for breakfast or a snack. Enjoy them on their own or with a cup of tea for a delightful treat.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons of active yeast
- 3 tablespoons of milk powder
- pinch of Nutmeg (optional)
- pinch of salt
- Lukewarm water
- Oil for frying
STEPS
- In a medium bowl Mix together flour, sugar, milk, powder, nutmeg, salt, and yeast
- Add water to the dry ingredients to form a batter
- The batter shouldn’t be runny and shouldn’t be thick as well
- Cover with a cling film, wrap with a kitchen towel, put in a warm place, and let it rest for 1 hour or until doubled in size
- Heat the cooking coil but don’t let it be too hot, get a tablespoon, scoop in the batter, and fry till golden brown
- Remove from oil, let them cool and enjoy
