Pound cake loaf

INGREDIENTS

  • 200g margarine
  • 320g caster sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 280g baking  flour
  • 4 tablespoons of  milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

STEPS

  1. Beat together the butter and sugar until pale and creamy
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time
  3. Sift the flour over the mixture and fold it in
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla
  5. Spoon the cake batter into the prepared tin and smooth the top with the  back of the spoon
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until risen and golden or a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean
  7. Leave it to cool then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely
