Pound cake loaf
INGREDIENTS
- 200g margarine
- 320g caster sugar
- 6 eggs
- 280g baking flour
- 4 tablespoons of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
STEPS
- Beat together the butter and sugar until pale and creamy
- Beat in the eggs one at a time
- Sift the flour over the mixture and fold it in
- Stir in the milk and vanilla
- Spoon the cake batter into the prepared tin and smooth the top with the back of the spoon
- Bake for 1 hour or until risen and golden or a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean
- Leave it to cool then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely
